Lucy Group wins Thames Valley 250 2019 International Business Award

Lucy Group is delighted to win this year’s Thames Valley 250 International Business Award, as well as appearing at number 29 in the listing ranked by sales. It is the second time that Lucy Group has received this prestigious award, having previously held it in 2016.

The Thames Valley 250  (TV250) – a listing of the Thames Valley’s leading private companies, is published by The Business Magazine and sponsored by HSBC UK, Gateley plc, BDO, Henley Business School and Vail Williams. The TV 250 comprises high growth businesses in the Thames Valley area (defined as Berkshire, Hampshire, South Bucks, Oxfordshire and parts of Surrey) and excludes listed and foreign-owned companies. Companies on the list this year have annual combined sales of well over £20 billion and employ more than 100,000 people

Strong international presence

The International Business Award was presented to Gary Ashton, Group Finance Director, Lucy Group at the recent awards dinner held at Cliveden House Hotel to celebrate the launch of the 2019 TV250 listing.

The judges commented about  their decision to award the prize to Lucy Group : ‘This business has a strong international presence and its innovative practices in developing countries were impressive. Its implementation of common values across its network, allowing for strong communication internationally, and its policy to recruit locally, enforced its status as a truly global business and its commitment to achieve international success’.

Gary Ashton said  “It is great to be recognised for our international business activities by the TV250. Over a number of years the Group has established businesses in developing countries especially in the Commonwealth to support local infrastructure development and to provide the Group with opportunities for growth. We adopt different strategies for different markets to maintain our corporate values and to meet specific market needs.Our business culture and how we interact with people makes a big difference. This includes recruiting locally so management develop strong relationships with their customers.”
