Lucy Electric Thailand (LET) joined forces with the Royal Thai Navy to tackle the pressing issue of plastic pollution.

On Friday, 9th June 2023, 120 dedicated colleagues from LET and 20 naval officers from the Thai Navy gathered at Dongtan Beach, in Sattahip, Chonburi, to carry out a mission of immense importance: to clean up a picturesque coastal area, renowned for its natural beauty, that had been marred by the harmful effects of plastic waste.

Lucy Electric Thailand Teams up With Royal Thai Navy to Combat Plastic Pollution

The event was inspired by the global commemoration of World Environment Day on 5th June, with this year’s theme being #BeatPlasticPollution.

Armed with shovels, the LET colleagues and naval officers diligently worked together, meticulously digging out buried plastic of all shapes and sizes. The team collected an array of items that had been irresponsibly discarded. Coffee straws, plastic bags, drinking water bottles, plastic cups, snack bags, and other forms of plastic waste were gathered and properly disposed of.

By removing these hazardous materials from the beach, the collaborative endeavour aimed to prevent harm to marine animals, ensure the cleanliness and safety of the beach, and to create an enchanting atmosphere for locals and tourists alike.
