Lucy Group HR holds First Apprenticeship Assessment Day

Last year Lucy Group HR held the first Apprenticeship Assessment Day at Lucy Electric Thame. This is part of Lucy’s new apprenticeship scheme which offers young adults the opportunity to study and gain real world work experience. It also offers Lucy the opportunity to foster talented individuals and let them excel within the company

After an introduction to the Lucy Group of companies the candidates had a tour of Lucy Electric Thame. Participants then engaged in a fun exercise designed to identify personal traits based on their response from an Insights quiz. The results were diverse with some drawing similar traits from people such as Margaret Thatcher and Gareth Southgate!

The group then divided into two teams and each was challenged to build the tallest and strongest structure they could out of spaghetti and marshmallows. After much head scratching and broken spaghetti, the “Eiffel Tower” design was declared the winner.

Bert Alberts (LE Chief Operating Officer) discussed the global reach of Lucy Electric and gave insights into a day in the life of the Chief Operating Officer. Bert then mingled with the group over lunch to answer any questions.

The afternoon was dedicated to participant presentations, which they had all worked hard on earlier in readiness for their interviews.

The day was a success in promoting mutual understanding and we are very happy to announce that Carl Wallis has joined us as a Finance Apprentice since attending the assessment day.
