New contract with NEC Sudan
Lucy Switchgear has secured a contract for over £1 million to
supply Automation products and services to the National Electricity
Corporation (NEC) of Sudan. This contract forms part of a
continuous investment programme by NEC in the automation of their
11 and 33kV distribution networks. Automated SABRE ring main
units, incorporating the Gemini-RTU 2, will be installed on the
11kV cable network around the capital Khartoum, together with the
remotely controlled load break switches, sectionalisers and
auto-reclosers in the surrounding overhead networks. The
service component of the package includes intense training by Lucy
Switchgear on product installation and commissioning. All
automated locations will be linked to the Control Centre in
Khartoum through the GSM mobile phone network with the deployment
of the DNP3 communication protocol.
